Guitar Playing, Drumming, Realtor – Meet John Chism
Everyone – please give a warm welcome to the newest member of the Global Homes Group team – John Chism!
John joins the team with a ton of local knowledge and experience. You see, he grew up on Bone Camp Road and lived there his entire life until college. So if you’re considering Tuscaloosa as a home, or a home in Tuscaloosa – talk to John because this area is truly his home.
He had an amazing childhood, has a best friend brother, 2 amazing parents, and a ton of talents in things like playing the guitar and the drums. In fact he was on the drum line in high school. Plenty of real estate agents struggle with multiple projects, contracts, and elements to the business. That isn’t a problem for John seeing as how he can plan an instrument while moving with a band going on around him. Managing inspections, counter-offers, and closings is quite literally a walk in the park.

Check out this story where we helped a local homeowner - you’ll see exactly why using a Local Realtor is important for you, your family, your goals, and your home/property.
Nicole Free just joined Global Homes Group in January 2022 after being an independent agent with Keller Williams, Tuscaloosa for about 2 years. (Full introductory post coming soon but this story where she helped a Tuscaloosa client has to be told right now)
This client came to Global Homes Group and Nicole after using a family member who is a real estate agent in Birmingham to list a home. Their thinking was - it didn’t matter where the listing realtor lived because this market is selling homes so fast.
Because of their thinking - and thinking to list with a Birmingham-based family member agent - their 3BR/2BA home sat empty and unsold for 90 days in a market where that type of home should sell quickly and for top dollar.
(they were losing money with it not selling)
The homeo. ...

If you are interested in homes and real estate, you have to read this!
STOP WAITING - IT IS COSTING YOU SERIOUS MONEY!!!
As we write this post (November 2021) a lot of banks are writing mortgages with an interest rate at/around the 3.1% mark. Some are a little higher, some are a little lower - just keep this in mind.
And as we write this, you can bet that banks are going to be raising the 3.1% interest rate soon. Nobody knows when or by how much.
(We are not going to review all the reasons why banks are increasing their interest rates, that’s not something we can help)
This is incredibly important to each and every one of us in this community.
You’re probably asking, why are we - a real estate team - writing about mortgage interest rates? We’re not a bank and we don’t and can’t control the % a bank uses when they provide a mortgage.
We are writing to you - the readers, our friends, our family, and clients - who are waiting for the ho ...

Today we’re talking about what you can do as a seller, worried you won’t have somewhere to go after selling your home. Sound familiar? We thought so and you are not alone!
When we talk to people considering the listing of their home, their #1 fear is, “Where will we go?!?” They see their kids in school, they see all their possessions in their home, they have memories there, and what families do NOT want to do is sell their home quickly and have nowhere to go.
Can you imagine the stress and worry?!? You’ve sold your home in a seller’s market so you got top dollar, it sold quickly, and now you’re on the hunt for a place in the same school zone and you’d like to cash in the equity and appreciation on the home you just sold.
But there’s nothing you like in the price range you selected, so you have to use all the equity and appreciation for the next home, which kind of puts you right back where you started. So why go through t; ...
